- 12 buttons controlling:
- Car Alarm (2 buttons)
- Garage Door Opener (1 button)
- X10 light controls (two consecutive codes, separate on/off buttons for each)
- iPod Remote (Play, Pause, Volume Up/Down, Next/Previous Track)
- Remotes were removed from their original cases and mounted with screws into the housing.
- Batteries mounted in battery holders in a conveniently accessible battery compartment.
- Remotes housing reside is hidden in a special pocket in the coat
- 25-pin ribbon cable connects original button contacts to new button strip
- Button strip is a piece of webbing with buttons mounted using their pins as staples
- Strip is velcro'ed into the coat for easy remove when airport security gets suspicious
- An iron-on mounted on the outside face of the coaat makes it fairly simple to find buttons,
and provides some tactile feedback, as well as being able to feel the actual buttons
themselves through the coat.
